TATTVA DESIGN HOSTEL

Welcome friends!

"Tattva" has been inspired from the Sanskrit word meaning 'Element', representing the five elements from which life evolves: Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Sky. Tattva Design Hostel will give you an enhanced hostel experience. Details and design have been carefully blended to create a new level of comfort and intimacy, as well as plenty of common areas in which to socialize.

Two beautiful buildings classified as "World Heritage" have been recovered and totally refurbished to make the largest hostel in Porto, with breathtaking views on the higher levels. With 16 rooms and a capacity of 124 people in total (Female Dorms, Mixed Dorms, Double Rooms, Twins Rooms and Familiar), Tattva provides a unique experience in terms of comfort.

Instead of building just another hostel, the philosophy behind every aspect (construction, comfort, toilets, beds, mobility, design, etc.) has been to think "What would I like? How would I be comfortable?"

We believe that we've created a new level of comfort and intimacy in all our spaces, never forgetting a harmonious design aspect, and always with a friendly and informal atmosphere!

This project has been a great and fulfilling challenge for us. We tried from the beginning to look at it as a 'Blank Page' and to think 'outside the box'.

UNBEATABLE location in the "heart of Porto", and part of the "World Heritage" protected area. 50mts away from the metro (which has a link to the Airport) and S.Bento train station, and 5min walk to the main buses line (Rede Expressos). Close to all main city attractions: Sé Cathedral, Sao Joao Theatre, D. Luis I bridge, Ribeira, etc. Also close to the main shopping streets, bars, restaurants, supermarket etc.

ALL OF PORTO´S MAIN ATTRACTIONS IN THE CENTRE ARE WALKING DISTANCE.

Find us

Directions

From Airport: take metro E line (purple). Change trains at Trindade station to D line (yellow) in direction "Santo Ovidio" getting off at the second stop - São Bento Station then follow the directions bellow from São Bento station.

From Campanhã train station: take any train to São Bento train station (this transfer is free with any train ticket to Campanhã) and follow the directions bellow from São Bento station.

From São Bento station or Metro stop: go uphill following the double lane of cars on the right of the road. Turn on your first left onto Street "Rua Cha". Follow the road only a few meters until you see a fountain in a V-shaped intersection. Here at this intersection you will find TATTVA on your right on "Rua do Cativo" #28.

From REDE EXPRESSO (bus line): 5min walk from Rua (Street) Alexandre Herculano - main station. Follow the street Alexandre Herculano, turn left at Rua Augusto Rosa,and then turn right at Rua do Cativo.

Boat Cruise along Douro River. In this cruise, you will enjoy not only the magnificent overall view, but also the six bridges that unite Porto and Gaia.
